North Carolina Home Inspection New License Requirements
In the state of North Carolina, those practicing a home inspection career must be licensed. Please note the following licensure requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Complete 120 hours of approved education - see list of approved providers here
- 80 hours of field experience, including 10 site visits
- Pass the NC Home Inspection Exam
- Background check required
- Obtain the following insurance requirements: minimum of min $250,000 general liability, plus ONE of the following: a.) min net assets $5,000 - $10,0000 ; b.) a bond $5,000 - $10,000 ; c.) $250,000 of omissions and errors
- Submit application and pay $35 fee
