Pennsylvania Appraisal Upgrade License Requirements
To move onto the certified residential level, you will need 125 more hours of educational credits. You can find 4 of the 7 mandatory courses on OnCourse Learning’s database. These four courses - Residential Market Analysis and Highest and Best Use; Residential Appraiser Site Valuation and Cost Approach; Residential Report Writing and Case Studies; Residential Sales Comparison and Income Approach - will help you get a jumpstart on the certified residential requirements. In addition to the 7 mandatory courses, you will also need to complete 1500 hours of experience within 12 months. For the certified general level, you need 100 more hours of educational credits plus 3000 hours of experience (1500 hours must cover nonresidential appraisals) completed within 28 months.
Pennsylvania Appraisal Continuing Education Requirements
All certifications expire on June 30th of odd years. To qualify for renewal, appraisers must complete 28 hours of continuing education (7 hours must include the USPAP Update course; 2 hours must include the Real Estate Appraisers Certification Act or Assessors Certification Act and the Board’s regulations and policies). To make your renewal process easier, OnCourse Learning has developed two continuing education course packages that account for 14 hours and cover the USPAP Update.
